To create the subtle details and definitions of the deck and hull, the plank on frame method of construction is used, which requires hundreds of hours of pain-staking, detailed work. The highest quality, rare woods (including Ebony, Rosewood, Blackwood, Mahogany, Jack wood, and Sycamore) used to construct our models are subjected to specific seasoning procedures to ensure that the model will withstand severe climate and never warp or split. The quality Honduras mahogany and fine cherry wood are of the highest caliber and generally used for real boats is used on our Riva Ariston models. Our Riva Ariston speed boats are highly polished to a glossy smoothness along with meticulous details that match the perfection of the real thing. Numerous layers of paint and varnish are painstakingly applied, with each layer dried and smoothed through sanding before application of the next. Details such as fittings, trimmings, steering wheels, and propellers are made sculpted brass or stainless steel. These metal pieces are then polished for perfect gold and metallic tones. The Riva Ariston Speed boat's dashboard is complete with a realistic metal steering wheel, switches, and gauges, all made from polished metals. Plush Seats are hand-stitched and genuine leather. Extensive research is required to build each Riva Ariston model according to scale, using various pictures, original plans, drawings, and digital imaging. Each Riva Ariston model ship is examined during various processes of manufacturing and shipment to ensure the highest quality and accuracy possible for your investment. |

Synonymous with elegance, class, and premier European craftsmanship, Riva has been one of the world’s leading producers in high quality speed boats since the 1950s. The Riva name dates back through the 1840s, where Pietro Riva began to fashion boats in a small northern Italian town called Sarnico. Pietro’s grandson, Carlo, would be the figurehead of the Riva Speed Boating legend. In the 1950s, Carlo Riva began to produce elegant wooden speed boats of unquestionably superior style and quality. Along with the Riva Aquarama, the Riva Ariston is one of Riva’s most popular speed boat models, created first in 1950. The Ariston was continuously subjected to upgrades and modifications so it maintained its reputation as the best of the best. In 1974, Riva discontinued the production of the Riva Ariston. Over the 24 years of production, over a thousand Riva Ariston models were made. Of the most significant modifications of the Riva Ariston were in the fitted, single engine, which ranged from 105 hp to 350 hp in the Super Ariston model, providing enough horsepower to propel the Riva Ariston at a whopping 43.2 knots/hour. |
